Nasarawa: Police launch intelligence on emergence of Hakika Islamic sect
The police in Nasarawa State yesterday said it has dispatched intelligence squad to unravel the alleged emergence of Hakika Islamic sect in Toto Local Government Area of the state. New Telegraph reports that fear had gripped the people of the state, especially inhabitants of Toto Local Government, where the emergence of an Islamic sect reportedly went viral on the social media a fortnight ago.
Commenting on the development in a telephone interview with newsmen in Lafia, Nasarawa State Police Command, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Samaila Usman, said intelligence officers were already working around the clock to ascertain the veracity of the emergence of the sect as allegedly being circulated on the social media. He said although the police were yet to receive any formal complaint on the emergence of the sect, it had swung into action by detailing its intelligence officers to investigate with the aim of finding the truth about it.
The police spokesman, however, advised members of the public to go about their lawful businesses as the police in the state were on top of the situation.
